Recruitment: Part 4 “Reward” Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

There are various ways in which you can reward you volunteers, committee members and players. Remember not all rewards need to be financial; there are lots of other ways in which you as a club can show your appreciation for all the hard work for little or no cost.

One way of doing this is to hold an awards dinner where you give out awards like “Volunteer of the Year”, “Coach of the Year”, “Biggest Influence on the Club”, “Junior Section Volunteer of the Year”, “Sponsor of the Year” and “Supporter of the Year” alongside the more traditional player of the year awards. This shows the clubs gratitude to all the different people who make it possible for the team to play on a Saturday. It’s also a good idea to thank everyone in general and to name check those who were close to gaining an award. Things like this are a great way to boost morale within the club and to reenergize your club at the end of the season.

A set of “Spoof Awards” can also be incorporated into this; categories could be “Best Hairstyle”, “Worst Hairstyle”, “Biggest Tantrum” etc. These can be quite funny and can add a bit of humour to the awards dinner or players night.

At the end of the day anything that you can do that brings the club together, shows people they are appreciated and generally shows that the club management are interested and appreciative of each and every member cannot be a bad thing.
